- 195l To 1958: Farnworth Grammar School.
- July 1961: Graduated in Electrical Engineering, Manchester University.
- 196l to 1966: Worked in UK, First for Ferranti (Power Transformers, Oldham)
Then CEGB (North Mersey District, Warrington)
Managed to get married to Anne and have two daughters, Joanne & Zoe, during this time!
- 1966: Jumped on a ship to Canada (taking family along for the ride)
- 1966-1967: ALCAN'S Private Power Station in the wilds of Northern British Columbia.
- 1967-1977: BC Hydro & Power Authority in Vancouver:
Commissioning Engineer. Special Projects Group.
- Finally got wise, returned to UK and bought a 26-bed hotel in Newquay, Cornwall.
After 6years,went completely mad and bought a 43-bed hotel in Newquay.
After another 6 years, fired the staff, sold up and took a year off in London.
- Worked for a while in the London Palladium (just the bar)
- Moved to Bournemouth around 1990, opened a B&B Guest House.
- After l2 more years of looking after other people, sold up and moved down the road to retire early in Christchurch, Dorset.
- We now split our leisure time equally between UK and Florida.
Have two grandchildren living nearby, but babysitting is now more like having company over to play cards, etc.They grow up real fast.
- Favourite sports: Pickleball* then golf & swimming and of course DIY.
* It's like tennis but played on a smaller court, with a hint of table tennis.
