- Left FGS after taking GCEs and joined the Westminster Bank at York Street, Manchester, where I remained for 6 years. I married Frank in 1957.
- Left banking in 1958 to become a housewife and had 2 children.
- In 1969 took part time employment with the District Bank training centre in Manchester, until its closure and merger with the Nat West Bank. Transferred to the Walkden branch of Nat West where I worked for 20 years until my retirement.
- I have lived in Clifton for 51 years and now have 4 grandsons.
- I look back with nostalgia at my school days at FGS.
- Looking at the 1950 photo of Youth Hostellers, submitted by Harry Jack, I remember being on a trip to Derbyshire with Mr Wotton. We stayed one night in Hayfield and 2 nights in Miller’s Dale, before hiking back to Buxton. However half the group had blisters so we stuck to the road; when along came a bus!
- Happy memories...
