- On leaving FGS in 1966 I attended Lady Mabel College of PE where I trained as a PE teacher.
- I started work at the Wellington County Secondary School in Bury in 1969 after which I moved to Nottingham in 1971.
- I worked at the Padstow School until 1972 then on to the Mundella Grammar School where I stayed until its closure in 1988.
- From 1988 until 2006 I worked at the Greenwood Dale School until my retirement in April 2006. After finally putting away my PE kit in about 1990 I spent the last, probably the most fulfilling years of my teaching career as a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and pupil referral manager at Greenwood.
- This all sounds extremely 'ordinary' but I've also managed to fit in a lot of travelling to various parts of the world - not quite so much in the UK as I tend to be a 'fair weather traveller' but there's lots of time left yet.
- One of my main interests is driving - I love cars and have always owned a fairly fast car. When I was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a late age of 59 my greatest fear was that I would be unable to continue driving but so far so good!
- I have included a 'photo of me in Spain at the Oliva Golf complex, one of my favourite places in Europe. It's where I've been spending quite a lot of time since retirement.
- I hope this profile makes it into the profile page and would love to hear from anyone who comes across it and who remembers me.
