Derek Morris

An e-mail this morning from Wendy Morris brought the sad news that her brother Derek (FGS: 1949-1956) died yesterday in hospital, having suffered a stroke one week previously. On behalf of the FGS Wrinklies website, I wish to offer our sincere condolences to Wendy, to Derek's wife Maria, and to their children and grandchildren.
I'll gladly forward any e-mail messages to Wendy.

  • Married to Maria since 1958.
    Five children and 12 grandchildren.
  • Keen on travel, walking, photography, music and line dancing.
  • 1959: B.Sc. (Hon's Physics)
    University of Manchester
  • 1959 - 1965: Physics teacher at Hindley and Abram G.S.
  • 1965 - 1967: Head of Physics at Penwortham Girls' Grammar School
  • 1967 - 1989: Head of Physics at Winstanley College, Wigan
  • 1994: M.Sc. (Computer Interfacing and Software Applications) University of Central Lancashire
  • 1995 - 2000: Information Officer at South Lancashire Health Authority
  • Now enjoying retirement and living in Chorley.
