- Attended FGS from 1942 to 1946, when I left to move to Blackpool with my parents.
- Worked for Ministry of Pensions (in Awards) for a year, then for C.I.S. Ltd. for a while, then left to work for Royal Insurance Co. in Exchange St. Manchester, travelling daily.
- From there I emigrated to the USA, still with the Royal Liverpool, working in downtown Manhattan and living with my sister, brother-in-law and their family.
- I returned to England for a holiday but didn't go back, so I worked for the Royal in Cedar Square, Preston.
- I married a professional sportsman in 1953 and have two children (a daughter now aged 49 and son, 45), four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. My husband died in 1987.
- Later I did different jobs: office manager, locum medical receptionist and manageress of a health-food store.
- I'm now retired — thank goodness!
