1925 Prize

Mr. Charl Heydenrich has written from South Africa to send these scans of the cover and bookplate of a copy of R.L. Stevenson's novel 'Kidnapped.' The book was awarded to a K. Hall as a second-year prize in 1925 and eventually found its way to South Africa, where Mr. Heydenrich bought it at auction some years ago. The foil-stamped coat of arms on the book's cover is an indication of how posh FGS was in those days!

Mr. Heydenrich has kindly offered to pass the book along to any surviving descendant of K. Hall, or indeed to anyone sufficiently interested to pay the cost of postage. Please contact me and I'll put you in touch.
