W.A. (Bill) Clarke and Barbara Schumacher were married on May 31st 2008 at a civil ceremony in France. Bill was at FGS from 1948 to 1955 and Barbara is a German lady and long-time French resident. They are to live in France.

The photographs below are frames taken from video clips shot by Bill's nine-year old grandson Tom. The first one shows Bill, Barbara and their witnesses during the ceremony at the Hôtel de Ville and the second one shows the bridegroom delivering his speech — in French* — at the reception.

Bill has been a stalwart of this website since its early days and I'm sure that all his friends from FGS and later will join me in wishing Bill and Barbara good health, long life and great happiness.

* It's true, I've heard the video soundtrack. Miss Baggs would have been impressed.
